DuVal, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama 3/31/05 First Beach - 2 6m nets in the afternoon BO/Yal 045 : BP ( CP lack (w/eggs ?) Fat ( eggs 5 Tits 0 Captured at 2:30 nest must be in the area... released at site w/o wt. or meas. XR/Yal 191 : DM captured at 3:15, in the first net. I watched him hit the net & took blood 20 min. after capture, but he escaped after I had bled only one wing, & incompletely banded him. AAA! But! he has been distinguishably banded, we have a genetic sample, & we took a blood smear. Kat + Mark are continuing to band at Central Clearing, and we banded there this morning. We captured WAG, the female who is brooding on nest E-1. It was a good day for target netting, despite my butterfingers. I checked nest E-2, and there are still no chicks/eggs, though the nest looks very complete. Perhaps a predator has already emptied the nest or it was an early clutch? Mark has reported seeing fledglings near Bee-tree.
