Dullal, E. H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Clinique, Panama 22 March 2000 All hormone samples after this day were taken by breaking the centrifuged capillary tube at the plasma/red cell layer and blowing the plasma into a clean, empty vial. Plasma samples are frozen in liquid N2 immediately after separation. The clay plug in the capillary tube's bottom is pierced with the same needle used to draw blood from the bird, and the red cells are blown out into two separate vials with Longmire's Solution (LMS). One vial is stored in liquid N2, the other at ambient temperatures.
