Eileen agreed to send supplies, though I'm not sure exactly what she'll be able to mail due to customs regulations. My requests were written in excited, rambling style, so I'll have to see what she get from it. She says I was a finalist for the Beim Fellowship but didn't get it, and that I'll probably get $4000 from the Integrative Biology departmental fellowships. No word from the other grants yet. Tyrone Hayes answered my questions about sample purity by saying only that he would use a different needle for each sample, not what the consequences of my present predicament would be. I have only 8 or so insulin syringes, so I've been using one for all the samples, rinsing 3x with DDH2O inbetween samples. I'm not quite sure what to do...
