20 March 2000 Observations at 4 lek sites today,
Mark had the day off. I saw
a tamandua sleeping (Tamandua
mexicana) in a tree near Enrique's
house as I hiked out in the
morning.
While observing [illegible] manakins
at Central Clearing, I saw a
large snake - only about 3 1/2 feet
long, but VERY thick. I sketched
a careful picture on the back of
my observation sheet, & Frank
says that it was a Bushmaster
(Fiuer de Lance). It was 3-3 1/2 in.
diameter.
