Duval, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 20 March 2000 Observations at 4 lek sites today, Mark had the day off. I saw a tamandua sleeping (Tamandua mexicana) in a tree near Enrique's house as I hiked out in the morning. While observing [illegible] manakins at Central Clearing, I saw a large snake - only about 3 1/2 feet long, but VERY thick. I sketched a careful picture on the back of my observation sheet, & Frank says that it was a Bushmaster (Fiuer de Lance). It was 3-3 1/2 in. diameter. grey beige dk brown white streak spectles esp. in brown spots black edg's Odd observations
