Chiroxiphia lanceolata adult male, "definitive male" plumage
found dead in mistnet from heat. Banded previously
in the day: #96, AY/Wal
17.25g R testis 4.9 x 3.9 mm
L testis 5.9 x 3.0 mm
tissue collected: breast muscle, heart, liver,
syrinx, testes
stomach empty; some matter in intestines (fruit?).
muscular bulge above syrinx
note: while trying to put a dot of superglue
in the beak, I spilled superglue down the
right cheek of the specimen. Never buy superglue voucher at University of Panama

Banded #148 xxx; known to be an actively
displaying male. Killed in a mistnetting accident
at the "snake field" banding site, 22 April 2000.
