See map from 7/11 From the field notes: "SHIT. Manuel just told me that while I was gone he & Franklin opened the nets and caught 2 manakins. He said they kept them in their house for two days, the birds weren't eating, and they let them go. Manuel is way too smart for his own good. I asked him not to use the nets without me, explained that Richard, who had studied birds for many years had killed 2, & I don't know if any will sink in. I don't want to get M in trouble, but there are so many reasons why only I should use the net!"
