DuVal, E.H. 1999 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov, Panama 8 July near here: blue-grey tanagers, variable seedeaters, woodpeckers & gledging. Binocs need to be more steady! Also 3 blk & red tanagers (scarlet - rumped?) in John's field. ? manakin eating berries. DM + RCM both sunning self on branches with wings spread. Heard 3 manakins near the cabaƱa this morning - 2 were green-phase (I was warbling, both pip & (chip?) calls). Didn't see either. Several new, promising lek locales today: 1) below the cleared lots 2) at the crossing of power lines near the track 3) On John's land, near the rocky beach (perhaps several territories in one area?) 4) At the well near the old horse field, where the power lines end. 5) near the bridge (confirmed perch) 6) by the 2o beach, just up the gully from beach
