MF Smith 1994 JOURNAL Las Flores, Depto. Maldonado, Uruguay Nov. 22 To the Orymycterus whose tissue we took the previous night we had 1 Cavia and 3 Scepteromy to take tissues from. Noel has typed the 3 Scepteromys. We are splitting the tissues so we each have a set. I am putting one of the Scepteromys in my catalogue, with a number also in the (A series since Enrique will keep the holotype for Federico's project. Enrique went along with Leo and Tito in the afternoon to trap Ctenomy since Jim had said he would be interested in having some fluid preserved specimens for MVT. He caught 2 Ctenomys in the late afternoon. At the house Federico had to leave to take the bus back to Maldonado for a meeting. He helped me set a few traps near the house before he left, and I finished setting 40 Sherman's near the house. Later I carried another box of 40 across the fields to set near the Aroyo Saravires . There were 4 lines with 10 traps each, starting with one line on the hillside, one line in low shrubs at the base of the hill, one in thick vegetation near the stream and one in gress and shrubs along a small path. Noel set 26 snap traps across the road along the house in shrubs. Noel and I set 19 snap traps in shrubs
