Black-headed Grosbeak
July 22.
Little Lake Kern River
Tulare Co., California.
Nest and eggs found
in a big willow thicket
in the peninsular in
Big Kern Lake. The loosely
formed nest was constructed
in a small crook about
6' off the ground. At
the time we found the
nest the male was
incubating the eggs and
singing at the same time.
The nest, four eggs
and the 3 bird were all
taken and recorded by
Mr. Dixon.
