July 17 Quaking Aspen Meadow, 7500 ft.
Siskiyou Co., California
This specimen was caught
in one of my mouse traps
set in the meadow near
the station. From all appearances
it is a young specimen. Two
other individuals have been
carried in like manner. This
kind is the predominant one
about camp. They seem to
be of all ages. A nest was
found yesterday containing 3 young
and one egg. The young are
about to develop.
