M.B. Richardson 2 1934 Promyscus maniculatus gambelii. bushes and neighboring pines. April 8 near E Stadium, 800 ft Berkeley Alameda Co., Calif. Caught two of this species today. One under a barren bush near a dry crab bed and the other under an alfalfa says bush. On each case the cover that the animal was captured in was good, that is to say that this was a well opened type of ground with scattered bushes and grass. One of the spines head float the left hind foot from the spine down. The worm feated on the stub was evident that he had been using that as a substitute.
