M B Richardson 1936 Motoma fascipes Jan 14 Canyon G, 7 mi N Orovi, 200 ft, Salar Co. Calif. Caught one of this species this morning in the some 30 or more traps out. Found area - Sierra foothill. Elevation - Upper Sonoran. Habitat - The locality where the animal was taken was from a rock pile beneath a Blue Oak on the grassy hill side. The trap was placed on top of the nest after the most recent spider had been removed. The nest was quite small, filling a crack in the rocks 6" x 8" inches wide, 3 ft long and several ft. ft deep. There was a large bird on the club of this nest. Aug 11 2 mi NW Kennedy Meadow, Sally Fork Kern River, Salar Co. Calif. Observed this morning inhabits! Found area - Walker Basin. Elevation - Upper Sonoran. Habitat - This individual was caught at the base of a cliff near the river. There were signs of dams about but most built down the river further then were several old nests built in the willow thickets.
