B Richardson 1934 Prognathus californius californius. Feb 12 Harris Stadium, Dwight Canyon, 400ft. Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. Caught in a small mouse trap baited with oat meal at the edge of a Barnum truck. The habitat was sloperill bordering on grassy hill side. The left cheek pouch was well distended with seed from some of the grasses. These long grass seeds had been neatly arranged in the pocket, stacked in like cord wood. The right cheek pouch was empty. The teeth were small.
