Prognathus californius californius.
Feb 12
Harris Stadium, Dwight Canyon, 400ft.
Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
Caught in a small mouse
trap baited with oat meal at
the edge of a Barnum truck.
The habitat was sloperill
bordering on grassy hill
side. The left cheek
pouch was well distended
with seed from some
of the grasses. These
long grass seeds had
been neatly arranged in
the pocket, stacked in like
cord wood. The right
cheek pouch was empty.
The teeth were small.
