Pitecka 1945 July 12-14 Bolinas and vicinity, Marin Co., Calif. Releanus occidentalis.-A flock of about 60 individ- uals seen on Bolinas Lagoon. Phalacrocorax auritus. -Several seen flying past the outter Bolinas Beach, toward Bolinas head, each evening. Ardea herodias.-About 6 or 8 feeding on intertidal flats of Bolinas Lagoon. Nycticorax nycticorax.-As with previous species; about as common as the Great Blue Heron, also. Erimatura jamaicensis. -Three (20's and one ? or immature) seen on Bolinas Lagoon on the 14th. Cathartes aura. -Seen along Route 1 north of Bolinas. Buter borealis. -Same as previous. Circus hudsonius.-Several seen over open country along the approach to Point Reyes; none inland or nearer to Bolinas. Talo sparverius.-Along Route 1 north of Bolinas. Lophortyx californica.-Common locally. Ortychus vociferus.-Heard on open fields NW of Bolinas Larus occidentalis. -Common along beaches. Larus heermanni. -Fairly common along beaches; ratio of immatures to adults is about 3:1.
