Petelka 1944 Nov. 18 Dillon Beach, Marin Co., California (Village area southwest to Sand Point and mouth of Tomales Bay). Pelecanus erythrorhynchos, 3 seen at Sand Point. Pelecanus occidentalis, 6+ seen at Sand Point. Phalacrocorax auritus, several flying over water. Ardea herodias, 1 flying over sand dunes. Branta nigricans, hundreds observed flying in from open sea into Tomales Bay. Melanitta deglandi, several seen near Sand Point. Melanitta perspicillata, seen along beach and at Sand Point. Squatarola squatala, three inside Sand Point. Capella delicata, 1 reported by S.B. Benson from marsh area in sand dunes. Ereuntes mauri, several flocks near Sand Point. Calidris alba, scattered flocks along beach. Larus occidentalis } scattered individuals along Larus delawarensis } beach, loose flock at Sand Point. Larus heermanni, one on beach near village at least Penthestes reflexus } several fleach in small flock Regulus Satrapa. } moving about syprus ras in village. Dendroica townsendi Carpodacus mexicanus Spinus junius Zonotrichia coarata Zonotrichia leucophrys Miloedra meloprgza } Noted in village & Dillon Beach.
