Sept. 30. U.C. Campus, Berkeley.
First wave of Zonotrichias arrived small today. Numerous, loose, and restless flocks noted about shrubbery patches.
Birds (i.e., Zonotrichia) called repeatedly, with a bird or two singing intermittently in some flocks. Besides Zonotrichia leucophrys and Z. coronata, one Wilsonia pusilla was noted on campus. Several Hutton Vires were noted in places where they weren't seen earlier and probably constituted part of the migrant group.
With some of the Zonotrichias, there were Song Sparrows, from whose behavior and local occurrence it was clearly evident that these were migrant birds, also.
Oct. 1 - Additional Zonotrichias arrived over-night. A number of Audubon Warblers also appeared.
Oct. 25 5:30 p.m. - Sky hazy and partly cloudy.
A number of geese heard flying overhead, southwardly directed.
