Patecka 1942 April 1 L.S.B., U.C. campus Cliff Swallows present, also. 2. Swallow and Swifts present. Swifts repeatedly have been noted to fly towards the services occupied by swallow nests while I watched them from 4th floor windows. In the afternoon, I watched them outside for about 5 minutes, during which time one of the birds entered one of the cliff Swallow nests, remained there a few seconds, then left. 3. Swallows and Swifts absent 4. No observations 5. Swift heard outside of L.S.B. about 9 a.m. 6. Western Bluebird seen atop one of the flag poles at south end of Stadium. Swifts and Swallows around L.S.B. 7 Swifts & swallows absent 8 " " " " Black-headed Grasshopper singing near home. 9 { Swifts and Swallows present near and about 10 L.S.B. 13} Swifts present. 19 Swifts present for brief period in the afternoon 21 Swifts again present for brief period around 2:30 p.m.
