March 5 9:30 Last night there was a heavy rain,
and this morning there is more than
the usual amount of activity on our
slope. In and about the row-apple tree
are three species of Turdidae - about a
dozen Robins, at least Two Hermit Thrushes,
and a beautiful male Varied Thrush,
all, of course, feeding on the berries. There
is also at least one Cedar Waxwing.
March 19 Berkeley campus. First Brewer Blackbirds
noted.
20 Berkeley campus. First Cliff Swallows
(flock of 8) and Warbling Vireo noted.
