1975 Pipilo fuscus Hilgard Ave., Berkeley 21 March ?? 1st year Yellow - Red. (to south) 1982 9 Sept Hilgard Ave. Towhee caught in trap set for rat that came in living room last nite. 3 ad. no fat. Testis 3mm. 54.0 gms neck almost completi: EE/EE/45o/EE/EE/45o/EE gms when picked up 7PM a.m., already ant-ridden, eyes dried, etc. - I.C., caught the previous day. In the neighboring yard, to east, was alone towhee chipping constantly, at varying rates, somewhat less vigorous song, but soft, and with subtle irregularity in the music forgoing a notes. This individual remained in the area before sleeps during the hour or after I discovered the trapped bird. It moved about chiefly on our upper yard and in Atkins' yard, closely oriented to the spot where at had first contact with its mate. 9 Sept. 5-7 p.m. Towhee present, calling as this morning. One gave a weak and somewhat irregular, but clearly identifiable pair re-enforcement note. 0 - 14 Sept. Single towhee present in each yard daily, chipping, a few more week songs given, also soft conversational note from by pair
