FAP 1957 Pipilo fuscus April 3 Queens Road, Berkeley Collecting nesting material - pair present around house and at least January. April 7 attempted copulation. April 10 gathering of nesting material still One member of pair seen pulling on long strands grasshites continuing. Both members of pair above around ground taken today. ♀ 1st-year Ova only to 2 mm.! No skull windows. 54.3g Retrices 1-1 & 6-6 retained, others new {Small skull windows on both sides of crown, in supraoccipital region} ♂ {1st L testes 14mm. 56.9 Retrores 1-1 & 6-6 retained, others new. } April 10 U.C. Campus Brown Turke seen gathering nest material April 22 Queens Rd Chipping hard soundslope suggests territorial activity locally. Possibly a new individual or new pair is again spreading into this area.
