Birds observed between 11 and 12 o'clock A.M.
along the south edge of the canyon forest:
Cooper Hawk, 1 over oaks.
Red-tailed Hawk 1 flying overhead; also heard
screeing earlier from a perch site within the
canyon oaks.
Spanow Hawk, 1 over field to south
California Quail, small flock in brush along border
Anna Hummingbird, several in openings:
Red-shafted Flicker, 1 calling down incanyon.
Steller Jay, several incanyon.

Plain Titmouse, 2.
Bush-Tit, 1 flock of about 12 along south
edge; later a second flock near upper
end of canyon.
Wren-tit; Several calling or singing near
upper end.
Bewick Wren; 1 in canyon.
House Finch; several over open country
along south border.
Spotted Towhee, 1 in canyon
Brown Towhee, 1 along south edge
White-crowned Sparrow; several in willow
thickets along south tributary;
Song Sparrow. Two in willows, also.
Western Flycatchers, at least two in willows
