almost interfered with them, seemingly to
take some of the food, too. After the 6th
feeding one of the two involved in the
feeding, probably the feeder, chased the
third bird for a distance of 2 feet or so. The third
jay followed. Feeding was again attempted,
and this time actively between the two, and
suddenly all three and others nearly flew
down the slope calling loudly.
Several brief chases between two birds
of the flock were noted at various times
in the morning.
