1961 Calyptr anna Berkeley, California 7 May Young male chasing others. Adult ? not visiting area. 13-14 May Adult ? present only once for a minute or two through 2 days. Yng ? not heard. 28 May Yng ?, not present. Adult ? present intermittently - stretches ? a few minute at a time - on days (weekend) when I was in the yard all day. This week and his visits were more frequent than last weekend. 1964 9 April First immature ? stationed in garden singing weakly. 10 August Yng ? anna holding feeding tamerly at NW corner ? lot, using Opuntia as lookout post. At least one other anna, and an imm. Selasphorus hummer repeatedly present, provoking chases and chattering. Settled anna ? went thru swinging display after chattering and addressed 'deep notes' to the Selasphorus hovering over flowers about 5-6 feet from the former. 1966 19 Aug Ad. ? in Primus above slope dives repeatedly, (10-12 times) and performs weak terminal click sound). Imm. ? at Ilden Park drops form perch over Palacius slope, then dives over Selasphorus, with broad sweep at base, making a weak left move only. He climbs
