August 2 - Fazenda Bolandeira, 10 km S Una, Bahia, 15°21'S
39°00'W. (Yuri Leite, Leonora Costa, Raquel Moura & Luiz Paulo Pinto). This farm (4,471 ha) has
mainly cocoa and "seringa" (tree that produces
latex) plantations. There are two main
native areas: a 900 ha forest to the west
and another 900 ha area to the east com-
posed by "manguezais", "restingas", "campo
sujo" (a very strange formation for this area)
and another forest fragment. The eastern
portion of the farm is by the ocean,
so the elevation is around 0 m. The ele-
vation in the western part is about
80 m. The owner of the farm is Henrique
Brener, who lives in São Paulo, and the
manager is Alberto Albagli, who lives in
Ilhéus. Sérgio is the administrator and
lives in the farm. Moisés and his wife
are the housekeepers in the house we
stayed. There are more than 150 employees
working and living in the farm. The phone/
fax of the office is (073) 236-2135. We set
four trap lines: ① "Cu3cu3" (900 ha forest): 20 stations (2
traps/station - sherman/Tomahawk - one on the ground, the
other in trees) + 8 stations with 2 victor on the
ground in each. + 10 Tomahawks on plataformas (~6 m)
using the structures built by Cristina Alves and luiz
