1949 Port Nolloth, Van Heever Farm (10-20 ft. elevation)

7 mi. E. Port Nolloth, (30-40ft)
Set out 55 mouse and rat traps around
the stick piles and by the burrows of the Bush
Stomps. Though their are rodent tracks in
great abundance it is very hard to catch

from one clump of sticks to the next and out
to the feeding grounds under succulent bushes.
Caught a striped-mouse No. 2216 ♂ by the
stick piling, also two gerbils Nos. 2217♀
and 2218♂. The colored people of this area
also call this gerbil the (Magmouse). Caught the
two gerbils in traps by the stick piles.
