Accession 8139 (=specimens purchased from T.L. by M.V.Z.)
starts (by assumption and logical deduction) with
specimen or orig. no. 1564. See explanatory note

P.S. Three specimens rec'd. in early shipments of accn. 8139
that had collecting #s. less than 1564 were transferred
to Accn. 7886, where they belonged, inasmuch as
the matching skulls to most of them had already been
received in an Acc. 7886 shipment.
Note, 5/11/51: T.L.'s catalogue uses the following "heading" for
specimens collected following # 1563, i.e., starting Mar. 25, 1948:
"SPECIAL MAMMAL COLLECTION FOR AFRICAN STUDIES"
However, this #1563 was collected on Nov. 1, 1948 so there is an overlapping
of dates, between Mar. 25 + Nov. 1, 1948, for the two accessions.
