Eastern Trip - British Columbia July 31 not extensive here. the weather was (cont'd) rain the late morning, at just after I drove through Edmonton I learned on the radio that a tornado had touched-down in Edmonton killing 25 ± people (perhaps just as I was passing through!), so the weather was bad, especially NW of Edmonton, with showers, dark clouds, and wind. I did not see many conifers NW of Edmonton, as I was in a prairie/dwarf aspen area until past Dawson Creek, B.C. It became dark for me at Dawson Creek. I continued W, until finally the conifer forests replaced the prairie. I tried to find a place to camp along the Pine River, as drove down a dirt trail right to two river's edge. It was raining, as the road was slippery mud. I decided this was not a good spot, since it wasn't level as I feared the river could rise because of the storms.
