1.620th 1984 journal 4. Salhen Creek, California Oct 13 fat was found on any individual. No foraging observations were made, but perhaps there will be stomach contents on the one shot-specimen. some song was heard from wild birds-- sounded like my recollections of type 2. The nets were rolled- up at about 4:45. 40 and 57 proved to be good decoys. Oct14 The early morning at Salhen Field Station was cold (less than 20° F) and frosty. The nets were rolled up last eve and they were covered with frost this morning. I tried to take record some individuals early and then kill and freeze them. Some wild birds were heard at about 9:15, then all seemed quiet except I thought I heard some type 2 "over" song phrases. One red male was around the net area but did not get into good position to be caught so he was
