drum area behind AMI (see D.A.M.#1)
8 June - 2 birds seen feeding along a water-
filled polyea trough - near Elson lagoon
(No. of Wohlischlag). The pair was not
collected (By bill length - seemed to be
> + ?).
9 June One bird displaying over Sandridge (between Berta
+ Voth area). Call note in display quite
similar to gulls but higher pitched.
It gives several liquid notes then a
swoopy tree-like call. The son 1 the bird
in display was to fly in circle - widening +
wideniir + Then gliding a down-curved wings -
while giving No call note. There was one
flight to 30'. The gliding back to the ground
as seen gull-like - but the bird would
glide in circles at about 75-100' above
the ground. We looked for just a few
minutes & the bird flew off to the west.
10 June Two birds seen feeding at the north
barrel ridge - a marsh area
&ree. - Appeared to be pre-bysie.
11 June Pair seen near Elson lagoon - Not Wohlischlag -
we was heard displaying (annually)
Later - probobs 20 and 20
