Holmes,R 1963 Limmus 9 June Barrow, Alaska Am I heaviest encounter (by cut vegetation) worked - not show 100pil Sowl- The area covered 500 yds x 50 yds - hold it vegetation 80-85% cleared. No animals now seen but pugmarks / foot prints present in the vicinity 10 June Checked 8 nests today - none were unusual - all almost parasitic centres were pile / pebbles - no sign waste predation 11 June Good signs (cut grass, well-used runways, burrows, etc. - on bluff - wet / VOA Creek - laer, Caleach food from Tigr H-B. 15 June Sign on Hravail Census Plot - is extension - perhaps 35-40% cut vegetation, good runways - lanner seen 17 June Checked 11 winter-nest in the census plot today - nothing unusual was found - Nests are plentiful - average 1 about 1/2 acre. (estimate). Second animals seen in the plot today. 21 June 24 nests checked - nothing unusual. - Hravaille 25 Jun 16 nests Nub strike - plot - holmi, new 9 July Three seen during 7% km - Hravait plot - but in general, they seem to be getting scarce.
