Holmes, R. 1960 Lemmus 21 Aug Banow= Ukroaitk, Alaska have been abandoned; these are still in use, and there are very noticeable and are well-traveled. Many of the runways are still in among the cut grass and are: invisible when looking at the tundra. No new nests have been noted, and the old winter nests are usually so wet that they are rarely used. Peiper Willa believe that the animal damage to the vegetation is about even with the rate of production of the vegetation. This is only an estimate made by observation. Willer reported seeing an area that had recently been disturbed by lemming activity 30 Aug Banow, Alaska Nothing has been especially noted during the last week.
