Juveniles are now being seen quite commonly, especially in the troughs where the cut grass has accumulated and when there are covered tunnels. The adult animals are still being seen, but not as common as before. Lemming activity on the ridge now seems to be confined to the areas of polygons and very few are now seen along the ridge top. Animals are still present in the marshes, especially in areas where there are dead grass. In the areas where there are low polygons with troughs 1-2 feet deep, where an animal with cut grasses, the lemming sign is the best, and usually lemmings can be caught there.
Predation is still extremely important. Since now that the jaeger and owl chick are getting to be food size, they are requiring more than usual food. Of course, the adults are still here too, so the impact of
