Kernavik (Barrow), Alaska
During the past couple of weeks since
the snow cover has been gone,
fewer and fewer animals have
been seen. The amount of digging
has increased as the permafrost
table has lowered, and today it
was especially noted that
hunnels are now deep + appear to go
North at least 1-2 feet with

well used and are prominent
feature in the tundra landscape.
