Holmes,T. 1962 Erolia Ferruginea 3 July Barrow, Alaska 1115-1120- checked nest near Wobbleblog - 2 was still incubating. She did not flour until 12:00 6' from the nest - at this time - she flew up in front of my face - hovering 3-4'. If I moved giving the loud - annoyed squealing sounds. As I walked off - she -gave - nodut - run or descent previous - but the hen would fly 6-10' in and keep ahead of me. 4 July 2000 - I not - nest & was not seen during 5 minutes were - but egg were there & warm - so she probably was off feeding. 6 July 1400. & was sitting - nest - she was not disturbed 8 July 1100. Nest #2 - Gone - no eggs 1 & younger eggs. Returned at 1402 - walked around Nearee - but nothing! With the number I jagan around (Parasite < 6-7) - The chances for predator being the reason for the loss is great. And I doubt they would have hatched by now. Next cup not no eggs & egg too young.
