The body & fluttered, tail depressed & fanned - The sunnoms off Thirty
The polyze troughs - given : squeaky
Call notes. She returned once &
sat on an egg - while I was
Standing near the wood - 46' away.
29 June Pikelka, Nome, I returned to nest #2 at
0900. The ? was on the nest and did not
flush until we were within 6'. The distractor
display consisted of fluttering 1 to 4 in air - while we were near the nest. If we
turned away & appeared to follow her -
She went into the potent-reen posture
as described above. No wing-flapping or violent
shaking was as seen & besides was noted.
If we returned to the nest, she would return
fly in air, hover on weaker wing while
just 2-3' off the ground. Finally - running
around (twice) setting at the nest - while
we were just a few feet away - very broody &
paid no attention to us. - Man other cadelaine
do. Photographs were taken by Pikelka & [illegible].
30 June Nest #1 EMPTY at 1330. No egg (The birds).
Replay cup - Made by ? Checked - was fuel,
lined - 3" diameter - Oil smoke poly,
among relatives Joel & Dave vegetation.
Nest #2 - 2 members - allowed close approach for photo.
