24 June Barrow, Alaska
a nut was found in the cracked edge 1<
polygon, south wolf. cloudy. Yggp + 2
Was incubating. 3-5 singing as
starting to drop off; only two songs were
heard today.
4 July A few seen - The B.R. census plot,
but no young or nests found. The
number been seen to be lower than
last year, but were relatively good.
Two fledgling seen flying near Volk Road.
The nest near the N. end (The road - from
a June 10 - failed - destroyed? - also
There was a woodcock just west of the
road. The nest near The aerial town-
was destroyed by A.F. Whalen.
7 July Flying young seen No. 1 boths are. - little
activity.
15 July Very little activity has been noted. Occas.
Adults are seen, including 3-5 in seemingly
good plumage. No brood-failed young have
been noted recently, and birds generally
appears to be scarce.
24 July None seen - The No. 20 acre 1 plot
B.R. plot during Perfection.
26 July - Small groups 1-3-4 seen between Footprint
Ftwork + again near The
wanigan.
