Holmes,R 1962 Erobia Ferruginea 23 June Barrow, Alaska Another P was found - about 100 yards East of the black ridge (curv- magnetic Stabia) & 200 yards S. of the Sea-plane landing lake. It was in an area of small ponds & moderate polygonal ground - The whine was heard several times from a distance & the part (a) any (doubtful) was noted. During the next hour the bird was watched - and it chased a burrowi - both birds flying close to the ground - The Curlew Selp. giving the Horseshoe note. The chase lasted only about 30 sec - The C.Sqp returned & I moved - saw several whines & remained standing quiet for several minutes. At the first rooftop half a bow - it flew N.W. So.-W. at which time I lost track of it [it was not here for 20 sec. but was not found during a casual move afterwards]. When 1st found - Morylott saw - 2 birds chasing - but I am not clear. 25 June After waiting for 10 minutes in the central activity area on the Beaver ridge - I heard two whines from the S.- who was further to the west
