Holmes, R 1966 Calcanis lapponicus 25 may Barrow, Alaska These birds were common on the sundra (when it was exposed). The flight song was (Grie) seven Amess during flight of pre-dawn evening. 30 may Barrow, Alaska wherever there as a large patch I exposed sundra, There an at least 1pr of Three longspurs. Several times during the evening, territorial conflicts were noted & chasing usually ensued. Males were seen displaying frequently. 1 June Barrow Alaska Much chasing, My 8 was noted. Territorial disputes were seen a several area of largely exposed sundra. This combat consisted of a chase by the settled 8; no physical combat was shown. 10 June Barrow, Alaska The number of birds present seen relatively low. The males are magnificently defending their territory, but 4t seen to be scarce. 17 June Barrow, Alaska A nest located in the drum area with Eggs. It was situated in a crack in one of the high polygon. The
