been now in the traps since that date. Hardly any are seen on the tundra.
23 July Barrow, Alaska
There still seems to be few of these
birds on the tundra. A bird is seen
here or there but not very occasionally.
Dayway birds have been seen the last
few days.
25 July Wainwright, Alaska
Several young birds were noted near
the village; however they were
not very common.
28 July Pitt Point, Alaska
Several present and scattered
out on the tundra. No young
birds were noted.
3 July Barrow, Alaska
Very few of these birds are
now seen; Dead individual
are occasionally encountered. The
birds have nearly completed the
post-nuptial molt and have
a brown wash over the head, which
makes the males look very similar
to the females
2 August Barrow, Alaska
Several seen in that area. Mostly males.
