Holmes, R. 1959 Calcaris Laponicus 5 June Barrow, Alaska 1030.- 20-35 were present in the Narvik Area. None were singing. 1900. Several seen in The drum area behind the base. At this time the males were performing their flight songs or several were seen during the hour spent in observation. They would fly for a length of 50-75 feet and then glide to earth (substretched wings) and at the same time uttering a trilling song. 6 June Barrow, Alaska 0800-0900. Several seen in Drum area going through their flight songs. Others were noted feeding and showing no interest in broody activities 1100-1200. Several in the Vault area and adjacent tundra. 7 June Barrow, Alaska 1100-1200.- may present in the drum area. No songs were heard. Also may present in the same area at 1500. 8 June Barrow Alaska.
