Holmes, R. 1960 Asio flammeus 1 June Barrow, Alaska Two seen along the shore of Elson Fagoon. 5 June - Barrow -> Iqaluit -> Barrow, Alaska Second see just South of the village + personally along the route like. In my plan next time, the usual display was observed. This is where Mr. Murd flus to a height 1 50-60 feet + then folds his wings eventually + flaps them together 3 or 4 times. By this time, Mr. Murd has lost elevation, so that he has to flap normally to regain altitude. The display may then be repeated. 9 June Barrow, Alaska One seen - The Mt. Parker 10s beach ridge near the Beverage antenna. It was seen to catch a lemming, and it then took him 12 minutes to devour it. 20 June - I saw near the gas line along the beach ridge. It was flying high + was being harassed by a pair of jaegers. 27 June - I seen at the south end of the drum area, being harassed by jaegers
