Holmes, R. 1963 Nyctea scandiaca 2 June Danny, Alaska Alw, Andy, Crane, worker at gas well, has not seen owls at all this spring 4 June A P at south end / beed ridge near Wobleschly 6 June 1 P on mound at northern end of foot-print hole. Have seen between Both Tree & Village Slope - nor a Gasoline or beed ridges. South end / beed ridge + Large mounds across Wobleschly Slope - 1 P down gravel, displays for 10 minutes - with lemon, a bird - turning i had under a moon. A P was about 10 yards away on mound. After 10 min - he flew to her mound, landed 3' away - vinned. Went into drawl display. But she kept looking straight ahead - no att'n clutched to P. After about 2 minutes, he flew back to his perch - again went into drawl posture - 7 June 2 P on south side of Wobleschly - halfway between end & b.r. + Alson Logan. Appar see by J. Brown Crew near Br. Hen's Dike. Only 1 P Seen here in the evening.
