4 June Barrow, Alaska
1♀ seen sitting on small mound, south of
Vath's area. No activity noted. No pellets were
found on mound. Pete Savolik reports several
owls south (The village (where the children are also
catching lemmings - 100 in about 4 days).
7 June - 1♂ seen on the hill, just So. of The Village.
9 June 1♀ seen flying west across the south end of the beach
ridge & then across central marsh.
10 June 1♀ seen near beverage antennae, N. of Vath's Slope.
14 June 1♂ seen flying west along the beach ridge near
the gasoline
11 June 1♂ seen flying south along the B. Ridge - along
Pitelka's plots.
17 June - 1♂ seen along The B.R. - near gasoline.
11 July 1♂ seen on the ridge behind (N.) the
insect plot.
13 July above bird seen sitting again in the
same general area.
21 July 1♂ seen at the south-west side of Vath's
Slough. - Most likely, same individual
as above.
23 July 1♀ seen just So. of Wohl's Slough.
7 Aug 1♀ seen So. of Oakley's Slough,
14 Aug 1♀ seen near the fertilize plots.
