Holmes,R, 1962 Erolia ferruginea 27 Jun Barrow, Alaska After several polygynous groups & finally, most be way toward Dr. O which had been doing a nut-eat display for about 60 sec. - She walked up to him, stood beside him for several seconds - He stepped aside, - but kept tail cocked, head half way forward, & stood only a couple inches away, while she appears to stick ink Dr. cup-tum in several directions & finally - more off feeding. All Dr. while the O was the with tail cocked & giving Dr. doublets. After she left, he also resumed feeding activity. Later, both birds flew to east- 100 yards - O giving trembling head-up & displaying just before landing by using up to 10' per gentle arc - given the first-tender shrubine as he come down & landed, with wings held up for 1/4 second. The O landed 30' away - Dr. O made his way to her - giving two short doublet sequences & steps seeking her, makes two complete circles around her (almost touching her), gains two whines, finally, stepping & standing beside her - but and remaining motionless for about 30 sec. The returned, jumped into her back - stood there with vibrating wings
