28 Aug Barrow, Alaska
A dead juvenile (with band No

mThe right? (eg) was found
near Trapline XIII (10' away). This
is apparently 1/7 the juw's for
nest #2. About 30 feet
from this bird we found The
remains of a juvenile jaegar.
There were several pieces:
wing, jaws, 1 foot, etc.. See D.
Chul, There was a large
pellet (Adult) which contained
a jaeger foot. It seems
probable that the family group
from nest #2 had moved
through this area, & had killed
a jaeger chick (probably not quite
flying) and had eaten it there.
An adult jaeger may have
killed one of the owl chicks.
30 Aug A repeat (The above incident
was discovered about 700 yards)
NE of the trapline in The Fertility
plots. The owl was also Narded,
& there were the remains
1 - dead jaeger chick
