Holmes, R. 1960 Nykea scandiace 24. 3 August Barrow = St. Barrow 3, Alaska Nest #16. found NW of St. Barrow 3. 5 young were seen; 2 were banded. One dead + mostly eaten joegar chick was found nearby Nest #17. Located ENE / St. Barrow 3 (just N. 17th small creek). Five chickens were seen; 3 flying - 2 banded. Nest #18. - Located NE / 17 - alan side on 17th lake (Secwaps). - 6 young were seen + all were banded. None were flying yet. Nest #19. Located "SE / Antler Lake, Five young seen; 4 banded: 1 Flying Nest #20. - located on the SE shore / Antler lake - 5 young found ; 5 banded Nest #21. Located NW / 1 Antler lake near a small pond. 6 young seen ; 5 banded ; 1 flying. Both adults were present at all 7 The above nests. None of the 58 attempted to dive-bowl in, and no duobiotic display was noted. As mentioned above, most of the young were found away from the nest site - Corrugants, Send the nest mounts
