Holmes, R. 1960 Nyctia scandiace 17. 13 July Barrow, Alaska posture quite well (I hope!!). Swt net #12 was checked + a boliar was set up near Th net. Nest #2 was then checked to clarify the positions of nests in this area. It was located & the young were quite well grown. 5 young were handed. (See Maker's note for more detail on #1 year, etc.). See below/ 14 July Skroaivik, Alaska The gggin owl nest #10 inm just starting to pip this morning. The 2 young were weighed at nest #9; The other eggs (5-1 had disappeared) an apparent vikstile. The pr. of ours near Britton's Area have disappeared. The nest (#1) Southl Footprut was visited, and it was found that the young were fairly well dis- persed. There were 2 in the nest - only 3 others could be located. Bands were placed on those present (some which had lost bands-) 13 July Barrow, Alaska At owl nest #6, a Stvant's nest with 5 young was found just 35 feet from the owl mound
