Holmes.R. 1960 Nyctea scandiaca 29 June Barrow - Ikeroville, Alaska 5 eggs. There was 1 & Lemming at the nest. Also on the way south, a lone & was seen at the NW corner of Salt lagoon in the gravel area just after the juncture / to go sweet wood & the village wood. (A bird was seen here in the evening on 26 June also). When he flushed as we went by, he moved further south along the lagoon & then flew out over the lagoon ice. At that time a gull? was seen further down the shore, sitting on a drum. It also flushed as we came near & flew towards Wath's Areas. There are probably non- nesting birds. 30 June Ikeroville, Alaska Owl nest #9 was checked in the lake evening. There are four young (which were weighed - 97g ± 32g). There are still 6 remaining eggs. Both adults were in attendance. 2 July - Nest #10 still has 5 eggs. Nest #9 shelter for 2 young, which were weighed this evening. Nest #1 was checked for the first time & a couple
