Holmes,R 1962 Erolia ferruginea 18 June Barrow, Alaska To sec. minutes,- The bird would take flight return to The other side of ridge. Beside Dr where - the competent / Song - a variable introductory note - The 'junc' - two parked trill (cheer-oh)- was given - several time in succession. The other was busy attending the 9- he remained in The hunched posture - running fast - then stopping to feed & running again. For more / less time - the 4 was not the found - but several times there was a chase - with the 5 giving The fourth - The 5 - giving trill - flee to vacant! The patrolling bird - landing nearby - it assumed an agg. posture and head forward down - pulled into Dr body, wings down. Tail dropped spread - screeching from the other bird which immediately flew flight - The other bird returned The skirmish / the 2 & 3 conferred feeding this was merely territorial encounter noted. This bird consisted of 2 sexes - males males and a rather dark female. The habitat was a smooth grassy edge - been patrolled by The Lenes of a wet lowland - pine spotted maid - cedar trees. Erected.
