7 August Barrow, Alaska
other individual was present at
the north end of footprint lake. Both
of these birds were males.
11 August Pitt Point, Alaska
A pair was noted about ½ mi E of
the base. The men at the POE station
have seen them there for "a week
or so" and report seeing them
hunting over the tundra.
15 August Pitt Point, Alaska
One male was present near the
east end of trapline T4. He flew
off as the ridge approaches.
18 August Pitt Point, Alaska
One noted near the landing
strip at 1100.
19 August Barrow, Alaska
One present on Moraine Ridge, one
on Beach Ridge and one in between
these two ridges. They could
all be seen at the same time
and were all molting wing
feathers.
21 August Barrow, Alaska
One seen sitting atop a pole
near ARES. It was a male
that apparently was not molting.
